Sunscreens - Dewy Finish

These sunscreens (in my opinion) are good for drier skin types and have a more dewy finish. Sunscreens that are very dewy IMO (for very dry skin) are annotated with an asterisk at the beginning.

ABIB | Heartleaf Sun Essence Calming Drop SPF50+ PA++++ (🇰🇷)
This is so nice! Droppers aren't my favorite way to have sunscreen (you'll probably need 4-5 droppers of this to get the right amount), however, this product is great. No cast or eye stinging, sinks in quickly into the skin but is till moisturizing. Great for sensitive skin as there are some nice soothing ingredients in here. Obsessed.
ABIB | Quick Sunstick Protection Bar SPF50+ Pa++++ (🇰🇷)
This sunscreen stick seems to have a chokehold on the skincare community and for good reason. No cast or eye stinging, and fairly decently sized as far as sunscreen sticks go. The stick is also contoured to make it easier to apply on the face and body. The finish is definitely a little shiny and heavy, but not excessively greasy. Love it!
ALPHA-H | Protection Plus Daily SPF 50+ (🇦🇺)
This is ABSOLUTELY gorgeous. This has a tint to it, but the sunscreen is already transparent, so the tint just adds a bit of glow to the sunscreen and it looks gorgeous on my skin. No cast or eye stinging, and just melts so easily into the skin. It's moisturizing but not heavy at all. It is pricey, but it's lovely if you're Australian and have money to burn.
ALTRUIST | Dermatologist Sunscreen SPF 50 (🇬🇧)
This sunscreen is honestly unbelievable. No cast, packed with filters, water resistant, and DIRT CHEAP if you live in Europe. It's moisturizing without feeling heavy, and feels great on the face and body. Honestly so impressed with this one.
*ALTRUIST | Face Fluid Sunscreen SPF50 (🇬🇧)
Another stunning sunscreen from Altruist. This is a fluid that feels lovely on the skin but be warned because you will be ~shiny~. No cast or eye stinging with a high amount of UVA protection to boot. This does have filters that can leave a cast but on me, it's totally transparent when it dries down. Love this.
*ALTRUIST | Family Sunspray (🇬🇧)
Altruist makes some really nice and simple sunscreens and this is no exception. I highly recommend you spray this at a distance from your body as the product can splatter. It does feel a little greasy but it’s great for beach or heavy outdoor days. Loved it!
Don't let the name fool you, this isn't an Australian brand. However, this sunscreen is still incredible. First of all, the smell WOW. It smells SO GOOD. It's like banana and cocoa and bubble gum?? It's not for everyone but I'm obsessed. This is a little shiny, but it isn't greasy. No cast or eye stinging either. Just stunning from top to bottom.
This is sooo nice!! Obviously no cast or eye stinging if it ends up a fav of mine. This is somewhere between a lotion and a gel and just goes onto the skin beautifully. It definitely leaves a bit of a dewy finish and it's fairly moisturizing, so you may not like if you're on the oily side of things. There is some "EWG green verified" BS with this product which is never fun to see. Overall, I love this.
This is simple, but nice! No cast or eye stinging, and this is a LITTLE shiny but nothing too crazy. This comes from Superdrug's own skincare line, B., and I love that it's larger than 50 mL. Not much more to say about this one, it's a goodie if you're in the UK.
This is absolutely incredible, and one of my favorite drug store picks. No cast, no eye sting for me, and has a lovely finish that just sinks into the skin. I found I didn’t need to rub for a long time for this to blend. I was still a little dewy, but not greasy. The price is amazing for how much you get, it has a very slight sweet smell, it’s just amazing. 10/10.
Fantastic. A fairly standard-feeling US sunscreen but somehow doesn’t sting my eyes and feels shockingly silky when it goes on. No cast, and has a finish that’s a little dewy, but not greasy. There’s a combination of the “sunscreen smell” typical of US chemical sunscreens and a coconut/vanilla fragrance. Great for face and body, and the size makes it fantastic for travel. Love this one.
A really nice comforting gel sunscreen. It feels cushiony but leaves a lovely natural finish. No cast or eye stinging of course, and applies and spreads incredibly easily. Contrary to the name, this has no watermelon smell. Fantastic!
The best of the BGS line. Not nearly as heavy as the others. Has the “Sunscreen smell” of many US chemical sunscreens, but doesn’t linger. Great for face and body and very moisturizing.
BGS Kids continues to impress. This spray is easy to apply and applies a little shiny but not super greasy. It’s nice!
For the most part, you can't go wrong with Austalian SPFs. This is a really nice liquid formula that sinks into the skin quickly and still leaves a bit of a dewy finish, but you're not overly shiny. No cast, nice finish, overall wonderful if it doesn't sting your eyes.
This is a VERY nice, albeit surprising, Korean sunscreen. No cast or eye sting, but the consistency reminds me of American sunscreens. It isn’t as lightweight as many Korean sunscreens and is very moisturizing. This isn’t a problem, just surprising! It also has the “sunscreen smell” normally found in American sunscreens. This product is absolutely lovely!
I'm shocked at how good this is. No issues at all, moisturizing, and contains CeraVe's signature ceramide blend. Good to see that CeraVe UK has their act together.
I’m honestly shocked at how much I liked this! This formula is THICC but not super shiny, so definitely better for dry skin. Didn’t sting my eyes (but it’s definitely possible) and no cast. Easy to spread on the skin. No other notes, this was a good one!
This was recommendation from Liah Yoo and I’m so happy I tried it. This is a lightweight watery gel that just MELTS into the skin and has the most gorgeous texture and glow. It has a bit of a floral/fresh fragrance so be aware of that if that isn’t your thing. No cast or eye stinging with this one either. Loved using this, absolutely stunning.
This is one of the best mineral sunscreens I've ever tried. Absolutely zero cast on me, beautiful vehicle, looks nice, just... wow. It truly is a flawless complextion. I don't like their whole "healthier sunscreen" branding, but this product is absolutely amazing.
Gorgeous, and who's surprised about that. This is a lightweight and water resistant gel that definitely feels TENACIOUS on the skin. The finish is a little dewy but not greasy at all. There's a definite scent to this that's a combination of lemon and honey and it's definitely noticeable when applying it but doesn't linger on the skin. No cast or eye stinging, just gorgeous. It's a little smaller than I normally like but it's still SO nice. Love it!
So I absolutely love everything about this. Relatively light lotion with a TOUCH of a dewy finish but it doesn’t feel heavy. There are also alot of fragrant essential oils in here, so if citrus scents aren’t your thing, this isn’t for you. The smell doesn’t linger that long for me personally. Doesn’t sting the eyes, high UVA protection, all in all a WINNER.
This is stunning! A slightly dewy finish but not greasy. Spreads INCREDIBLY easily on the skin, like a few rubs and you're good. This has a fresh scent that isn't overpowering but it's definitely present when you first apply. No cast / eye stinging for me. Gorgeous.
This was my holy grail sunscreen for YEARS. It’s very heavy and dewy (techinically it’s a body sunscreen) but it wasn’t too bad for me even though I was a little shiny for a bit while it settled. Nothing fancy in terms of the formula, but a good option nonetheless.
This is so much nicer than its mineral counterpart. It does have several citrus essential oils that give this a citrus candy / bubble gum smell, and it lingers, so be aware of that. The texture is a very lightweight gel with no cast and gives a VERY slight glow. It’s a little moisturizing but not overly so. Overall, absolutely stunning.
Eucerin in Europe can (almost) do no wrong when it comes to sunscreen. This is incredible but for dry skin only since this is MOISTURIZING. It's also shiny AF. But no cast or eye stinging, and surprisingly SPF 50 and not 50+. Regardless, this is another stunning Eucerin sunscreen.
Pretty bare bones but nice! No cast/eye stinging, pretty dewy but not incredibly greasy. Love it!
Love LOVE this! This is marketed as a body sunscreen but it’s not bad for the face honestly. A little dewy, no eye stinging, and no white cast. It has a fresh/fruity apple scent but you can also smell the “sunscreen scent” characteristic of US products. It’s a little heavy, but nothing too crazy. Overall, a fantastic US pick!
One of my all time favorites. Mousse texture, looks great on the skin. A pain to get in the US but honestly… worth it.
This is my FAVORITE of the Evy sunscreens. It’s a mousse that has been shown to be water resistant for up to EIGHT HOURS which is wild. The kids formula is similar to the regular formula, but some of the antioxidants and other ingredients are taken out. Additionally, this isn’t as airy as the regular formulas and definitely feels more moisturizing and less grippy and waxy on the skin. No cast or eye stinging for me and was pleasant to wear all day. Love everything about this.
Another winner from Evy. Mousse texture, incredible staying power (studies done by Evy show 6-8 hours of water resistance), looks great on the skin. A pain to get in the US but honestly... worth it.
This is gorgeous. A fairly runny and lightweight transparent gel, with a bit of a glow and dewy finish left behind. No cast or eye stinging. It does have a lemony scent that you can definitely smell when you're applying it and it does linger a touch, but for me it's not overpowering. Loved this!
This product is so nice! Totally invisible and quick drying, but still leaves a little bit of residue as it’s water resistant. No cast, rubs into the body easily, I’m a fan!
Garnier Ambre Solaire really knocks it our of the park with their sunscreens. This is a pretty moisturizing lotion that's perfect for drier skin without being incredibly greasy. No cast, no eye sting for me, easy to rub in, just... perfect.
Finally, a Heliocare sunscreen I love, and obviously there's no way to get it in the US because of the shipping restrictions on aerosols. Totally invisible, not incredibly greasy, has the signature Heliocare fruity scent, and apparently can be applied on wet skin. It will be a little greasy at first, but it does dry down. This is also packed with antioxidants including their signature Polypodium Leucotomos. Stunning.
A really gorgeous sunscreen gel! This has no cast and doesn't sting my eyes, but it does have a bit of a funky smell that I personally don't mind and fades quickly, but if you have a sensitive nose, it may bother you. This is moisturizing and has a very lightweight finish that doesn't feel excessively matte or dewy. Another fantastic East Asian suncreen.
One of my favorite European sunscreen sticks. This is a little greasy, but not unwearable IMO. Also has the signature fruity Heliocare scent which I personally love. I do wish it was bigger, but this is still one of the larger sticks that I’ve tried. They’ve also done tests to show this sunscreen protects against high energy visible light and infrared, which isn’t a huge deal but it’s nice. No cast or eye stinging. A winner of a product.
A perfect Japanese sunscreen, surprise surprise. No cast or eye stinging for me, seems to be pretty water resistant, and the finish is dewy but not super heavy. Spreads easily on the skin, just perfect.
This is a PERFECT sunscreen stick. It’s totally clear, doesn’t sting my eyes, and feels like NOTHING on the skin. I feel comfortable using this on my face and my body. I especially love how light this is because I can use several swipes to ensure adequate protection and it doesn’t feel heavy. Utter PERFECTION.
This a lovely soothing gel, lightly moisturizing/dewy but not heavy at all, no cast or eye stinging, it's fantastic!
ANOTHER perfect sunscreen from LRP in Europe, surprise surprise. This one is perfect but an additional bonus is that this is 100 mL, the max size of products you can fly with in a carry on, so this has become my go to sunscreen for trips! Other than that, not much to say. No cast or eye stinging and goes on a little shiny from the water resistance. Love the product, love the size!
A really nice spray sunscreen for the body! It can be a little bit greasy once you’ve sprayed enough, but on the body it’s not as much of a big deal. I don’t use spray sunscreens on my face so I can’t comment on eye stinging, but this is nice. This is identical to the regular version except there’s no fragrance. Love this!

Another perfect sunscreen from LRP that isn’t sold in the US. This is the thicker and more hydrating sister of the LRP Invisible fluid. Same mix of filters, including Mexoryl 400 that protects against long UVA. Still water resistant, still no eye stinging, but the texture of this one is definitely for more dry skin. I will say the pump on this is kind of annoying, since I find I need to squeeze the bottle and pump at the same time to get product out. I prefer the fluid to this, but this one is still an absolute winner.
Nothing short of perfect, genuinely. High protection, no cast, no eye stinging, water/sweat/sand resistant, just INCREDIBLE. This takes advantage of L’Oreal’s new filter, Mexoryl 400, which is reported to protect against long UVA, which is the UVA rays that get closer to the visible light spectrum. That aside, this formula is perfect and I want to be buried with this sunscreen.
This is GORGEOUS. No cast or eye stinging, and just has a gorgeous luscious texture. There's a light fresh/floral/sweet scent to this that is a little strong when you first apply it, but doesn't linger. The texture is thicc but easily spreadable. This did take a while to dry down, but it didn't feel unpleasant on the skin. This would likely be best for drier skin, but this was still a joy to use.
This is an excellent mineral sunscreen. No cast, light texture, non greasy, AND high UVA protection?? Absolutely perfect in every way, and has some nice potential antioxidants, hydrators, and soothing ingredients. It's pricey, but incredible.
This is perfect for me. The texture is a thick cream that has a GORGEOUS texture and goes onto the skin easily. It’s moisturizing without feeling heavy, and gives a nice glow without feeling greasy. However, several people have told me this stings their eyes BADLY, so be wary of that. Overall, obsessed with this one.
Absolutely obsessed with this! This technically a body sunscreen but I think it's fine to use on the face. There's no cast, no eye stinging for me (definitely possible though), and has a VERY slight dewy finish on me, but it's not greasy. There is a fairly strong fruity fragrance to this as well. It's also water resistant and incredibly easy to spread. This is fantastic!!
Naturium finally launched a sunscreen and it was absolutely worth the wait. When I first saw the name, I was worried this formula was going to be greasy, but it’s not. It definitely gives a glow, but I don’t think it’s excessively shiny. No cast or eye stinging for me, and was easy to spread. This would be best for people with drier skin, but oily/combination skin can still enjoy it if you skip moisturizer and just use this. I also love that they did PA testing for UVA protection even though it’s not required in the US. Overall, a fantastic pick with added UVA protection tests at an affordable price, I have no complaints.
This is one of my all-time favorite sunscreen sticks for the body. It's very water resistant and fairy greasy, so I probably wouldn't use this for daily use and just for heavily outdoor days. No cast at all. It also has a fairly strong fruity / tropical scent that absolutely lingers, so that may not be for everyone. It's easy to apply and spread and the size of the stick is fantastic. Love this!
A no-frills drug store sunscreen. Moisturizing, leaves a bit of glow, no cast or eye stinging, and inexpensive (at least at Boots). Has a bit of a floral smell. Love this.
This is a PERFECT Australian sunscreen. High protection, Not heavy but still incredibly water resistant, no eye sting for me, and DIRT cheap in Australia?! Amazing.
This feels really nice on the skin but I will say that it’s WET. The gel collapses into a liquid and you may not like the dewy finish if you’re oily. I recommend applying this in two layers and letting the first layer dry down before applying the second to avoid it feeling incredibly greasy. Also has some nice potential antioxidants/skin soothers in here. Overall, new holy grail for me, absolutely loved it.
This sunscreen feels really nice and moisturizing on the skin, is packed with antioxidants, patented peptides, and skin soothing ingredients, doesn't sting my eyes, and smells nice, what's not to love?? The price. It's expensive ($70 US at the time of writing) for 48g of product. I think this is an incredible sunscreen, and if you're looking to splurge, this is definitely one to try.
This is tiny, but SO nice. Lightweight fluid with a somewhat radiant finish that dries down over time. It's hydrating, but I would wear this under moisturizer if you have dehydration-prone skin. No cast or eye stinging, absolutely stunning.
Only even look in the same direction of this sunscreen stick if you have bone dry skin. This is GREASY, and does not dry down on my skin for quite a long time. Didn’t have a cast or sting my eyes. Easy to spread and didn’t clump up. Love for dry skin, everyone else should run far.
I like this a lot, even more than the US version of this product. It's a water resistant fluid that is a little bit dewy, but not nearly as much as the US version, and definitely not greasy. There is a slight scent to this that doesn't linger on me. According to Shiseido, this has technology that increases the SPF when it get's wet or hot (haven't seen the evidence for this so take that with a grain of salt). This is also very affordable for the amount of sunscreen you get! Overall, this is a fantastic sunscreen and something I'll definitely keep for face and body.
I am obsessed with this, but not everyone will like it. It's a water resistant fluid that is definitely dewy and bordering on greasy, but there is enough alcohol in this where it dries down not AS greasy. According to Shiseido, this has technology that increases the SPF when it get's wet or hot (haven't seen the evidence for this so take that with a grain of salt). This is also very affordable for the amount of suncreen you get! Overall, this is a winner of a product and something I'll definitely keep for face and body.
I didn't expect to like this, but it's pretty nice! This brand's whole thing is that their products are waterless and therefore "less diluted" and you only need a pea sized amount to get adequate protection. That isn't true, because all sunscreens are tested the same way at 2 mg/cm². Regardless, this is a really nice sunscreen. No eye sting or white cast, and a lot of water resistance. It is decently greasy since it's all oils and no water but it's not unwearable. A fantastic pick! It's also worth noting that this brand does make US versions of their products, but this is the NZ version.
This is stunning. No cast or eye stinging (for me) and leaves a very light finish on the skin. That being said, it’s still SHINY and definitely only pick this up if you want a glow. There’s a light floral scent to this that I didn’t find lingered on my skin. The packaging is a little big for how much sunscreen is in the package, but it’s not bad at all. It’s also fairly runny when you squeeze it out. Overall, a pretty nice US option.
Moisturizing, fresh, and lovely. No cast or eye stinging, and leaves what feels like a water resistant film on the skin. This also has lavender oil as well as additional fragrance, and that scent is very present in the final product, but not overwhelming in my opinion. This is a typical gel / cream hybrid and "breaks" easily as it spreads on the skin. May not be for everyone because of the lavender scent, but a wonderful pick nonetheless.
This is nice, but not for everyone. There's no cast or eye stinging on me, which is always nice. However, this is SHINY, which isn't a shock given the water resistance, and also has a strong alcohol/lavender scent that dissipates quickly for me. This would be best for people with dry skin for sure. There's also lots of clean marketing that this brand does which is never fun, but this product is very nice.
This is LOVELY. A lightweight gel/lotion/fluid (It's hard to differentiate) with a silky finish that just melts in easily into the skin. I had none of my usual issues with this (cast, eye sting). It has a very fresh/floral smell and the texture is genuinely so gorgeous and I love using it.
Moisturizing but not heavy. Has a fresh scent and a BEAUTIFUL finish. Wish it was possible to get in the US, because it’s absolutely perfect.
This sunscreen is AMAZING but is marketed in a way that I find a little confusing. It’s labeled as having a matte finish and it does… when you apply half as much as you need. When I applied the proper amount, this definitely had a very dewy finish. No cast or pilling, high amount of UVA and UVB protection (Australian broad spectrum needs to have the UVAPF be at least SPF/3), it’s just gorgeous.
This is one of my favorites. No cast; no eye sting; PACKED with antioxidants, soothing ingredients, peptides, and breakout fighting ingredients; AND it feels nice on the skin?? Obsessed. It is on the pricier side, but it’s SO nice. I also wish it was a pump instead of a dropper! Highly recommend this for acne-prone skin.
